Holistic Curriculum

 1. Brain Break:

Giving them time to dance on their own and sit if they want to sit. Time for no instuction and they get overwhelmed easily so its a time to relax and chill. 



2. Teaching children how to learn about their brain and how to use it.

a) Focus - meditation: helps you learn about your brain and ur body and relaxes you enough to understand how to use it. 

b) Happiness - talking about what your struggling with so you know your not alone. and everyone around you will have simpathy and they can go around and say something they like about each other. 

c) Kindness - group work because it teaches them how to be kind and patient with others. 

d) Gratitude journaling - after class write about what you talked about, draw how they are feeling to express themselves and write down who they ar egreatful for. 



3. Teach children brain fitness:

a) Resilience - To put themselves out there and make them build thick skin so that they gain confidence and love who they are.

b) Self-Awareness - learning the space around them through movement. 

c) Critical Thinking - Improv to think on the spot and use your tools to make a dance that flows with the group.



4. Teach Children how to manage their own brain/reality.

When they are stressed out tecah them coping skills and also how to meditate to better understand their emotions and how to control them so that they can succeed in the world without being overwhelmed or feel out of place. 



5. Work with parents.

Weekly check ins and emails to ask if the kid is improving at home and also maybe if we learn more about the kid in class then we can help provide the parents with insight on hwo their child is feeling and what they need to work on at home to be better. 



6. Include evidence based research/Positive Psychology.

Make something postive for something that seems negative. Dont make the children feel like their special needs is a burden but rather a super power and that its amazing that they are different. They have other talents that not many other people in the world have
